The Shortcut integration syncs all stories assigned to you in Shortcut to your Taskable Inbox. We also have two-way syncing between Shortcut and Taskable, meaning the following fields will autosync when updated in Taskable or Shortcut:

  • Title

  • Due date

  • Description

With Shortcut we don't sync when you've marked something as complete in Taskable, so you'll have to follow the link to the original Shortcut story to move that to the correct column.

For more information about Shortcut, you can check out our Integration post here.

How to set up the Shortcut integration

Step 2: Select the Shortcut button

Step 3: You'll need to generate an API token in Shortcut (we provide the link on the setup page to where you can do that in Shortcut).

Step 4: Copy and past the API token into the field in Taskable, and hit save

Step 5: Take the payload URL and Secret we provide, and create a webhook in Shortcut (we link you right to where in Shortcut you can set that up).

Step 6: Create the webhook in Shortcut

Step 7 (optional): Scroll down to the newly created integration, and sync any tasks - you can select to sync everything from one week prior, one month prior, or all existing open tasks/stories.

How the Shortcut integration works

πŸ†• Once set up, all newly created stories assigned to you in Shortcut will begin syncing to Taskable.

βͺ You can import existing issues and pull requests once you've set up the integration. You can even choose how far back you want to sync from.

πŸ”„ Two way syncing means changes made in Shortcut or in Taskable will sync. This includes due date and description. Stories marked as complete in Shortcut will be marked as done in Taskable.
